Job Description

Job Title: Cycle Technician & Rider Support

MTB Monster is a leading mountain bike specialist that repairs and sells both electric and non-electric bikes. The brands we sell and represent in store include Trek, Cube, Santa Cruz, Haibike, Mondraker, Orbea, Marin, NS Bikes, Cannondale, Whyte & Transition.

We’re committed to offering top-quality bikes, gear, and service — all backed by genuine rider knowledge and support. As the business continues to grow, we’re looking for a Cycle Technician & Rider Support team member to join us at our Lancashire HQ. We pride ourselves on helping riders get the most from their bikes and gear, whether it’s a simple fix or a complex warranty case.

About the Role
You’ll be working closely with our workshop manager and wider team to manage your own workload — handling warranty and rider support cases as well as general mechanic duties. We’re after someone reliable, proactive, and organised, with a hands-on approach and great attention to detail.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Handling rider support and warranty cases efficiently to keep riders happy
  • Processing returns with suppliers, following each brand’s policy
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults on mountain bikes and eMTBs
  • Communicating technical issues clearly with customers and the team
  • Supporting day-to-day workshop operations when needed

The Details:

  • Flexible hours: 20 to 40 hours per week (to be discussed)
  • Salary based on experience and pro-rated for part-time hours
  • Cytech training support available
  • Long-term opportunities as the brand grows

Skills/Experience Required

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in a customer-facing role
  • Clear, confident, professional communication — both written and verbal
  • Comfortable using digital tools like Google Sheets and Word
  • Solid bike knowledge and a passion for the MTB world
  • A self-starter who takes pride in doing things properly

Cytech Level 2/3 (or equivalent experience) is ideal, but if you’re the right fit and don’t yet have the qualification, we’re open to supporting Cytech training.

Full training will be provided, both for the role itself and during a smooth handover. You’ll also need to be confident using a computer — including basic tools like Google Sheets, Microsoft Word, and simple workshop or office systems.

Experience working on mountain bikes and eMTBs is important. If you’ve dealt with motor systems like Bosch or Shimano and know your way around diagnostics, even better — but we’ll help you get up to speed.
