Trials Bike
This alien-looking bicycle without a saddle is used to perform amazing feats of bike handling. Mountain bike trials (also known as observed trials), sees riders hopping over, balancing on and generally showcasing their bike control through just about any obstacle.
The bike frames are generally designed very low, with a bottom bracket that sits well above the wheel axles. They are also characterised by lightweight frames and components (relative to other types of mountain bike), wide handlebars, powerful brakes and usually a low-gear singlespeed drivetrain. 20, 24 and 26 inch wheels are common.
