Popular with commuters in a hurry, the flat-bar road bike has all of the efficiency and speed of a racing bike, with a more upright position so that the rider can see their way clearly in traffic.

Options with disc brakes and clearances for larger-than-usual tyres are also popular. Whilst comfortable and familiar, the flat bar road bike is practical only for shorter distance riders as there is only one position for your hands on the bars.
