Lee formed Breakaway Bike Maintenance Ltd in 2022 after having worked as a civil engineer for well over 15 years and then more recently as branch mechanic for a very well-known high street bicycle retailer, he decided to go it alone.
It was clear that it was time for a change and gained his IMI (The Institute of Motor Industry) Level 3 Professional mechanic qualification, along with specialist Brompton training and certification direct from Brompton, and direct training from Shimano.
Being a keen cyclist, triathlon enthusiast and family man, the logical option was for Lee to pool his skills, knowledge and enthusiasm for bikes and cycling and form Breakaway Bike Maintenance Ltd.
Based in Stockport, England, Breakaway Bike maintenance is a customer-centered business, all about community. Their big passion is getting people cycling, keeping people cycling and helping keep the love and enjoyment of being on the bike going for as long as possible and as safe and stress-free as imaginable, in all conditions.
